About Northern Health:

Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.

About the Role:

This role would suit either an existing or aspiring laboratory assistant who enjoys working as part of a team to contribute to the production of high-quality work and ongoing patient care. The position is a Full Time Fixed Term position until 31/10/2025.

Positioned in the Anatomical Pathology team, the key responsibilities include (but are not limited to): specimen handling and data entry, laboratory investigations, MDM organization, organizing send-away specimens, answering phone calls and emails, and assisting the Anatomical Pathologists, Senior staff, and external and internal clients.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Victorian Certificate of Education or equivalent. Desirable qualification includes certificate/diploma in laboratory techniques or similar.
  • Previous experience working in a diagnostic pathology laboratory would be highly advantageous and preferable.
  • Previous working experience in administration/clerical work specifically data entry would also be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-changing environment, working both independently and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
