Job Title: Lab Technician (Design and Technology)

Lab Technician (Design and Technology) – Secondary School (Hull)
Location: Hull
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: £89 – £125 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP (22/04/2025)

GSL Education are seeking a skilled and reliable Design and Technology Lab Technician to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Hull. This is a full-time opportunity, ideal for someone with practical workshop skills and a passion for supporting students in a creative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and maintain tools, equipment, and materials for D&T lessons.
  2. Support teachers in delivering practical lessons safely and effectively.
  3. Ensure the workshop complies with all health & safety standards.
  4. Operate and maintain machinery including the band saw and other power tools.
  5. Assist students with practical tasks, offering guidance where appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a Design & Technology environment.
  • COSHH and other qualifications that are applicable.
  • Confidence operating workshop machinery, including band saws.
  • Good knowledge of health & safety in a school/workshop setting.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through GSL Education).
