Job description

Epoch Biodesign

Epoch Biodesign is a well-funded, venture-backed start-up using biology to make every type of plastic recyclable.

Using a unique combination of AI, synthetic biology and green chemistry, we are scaling enzymatic recycling processes to transform unrecyclable plastics into new sustainable materials and chemical building blocks. These processes yield substantial reductions in carbon emissions and prevent waste from entering landfill or the environment. They also generate disruptive unit economics, allowing us to scale our solutions quickly to solve this urgent challenge.

We’re already working with major players across polymer manufacturing, fashion and automotive, and are scaling up to our first demo production facility in 2025.

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support the daily operations of our laboratory.

This role is suited for those with a diploma or apprenticeship who want to apply their skills in a practical setting. It is not suitable for those seeking an academic or research-focused career, including those with a master's or PhD. We are seeking someone who takes pride in ensuring that the routine, hands-on tasks of running and maintaining a lab are always in order and someone who values a clean, organised, and functional workspace. The successful candidate must be able to start immediately and have the right to work in the UK.

Epoch Biodesign’s head office is in London.
