Job description

We are seeking a caring, motivated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated school. This role involves supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 2, working with individuals, small groups, and sometimes supporting the whole class under the direction of the class teacher. Beginning April 2025.

Duties as a KS2 Teaching Assistant:

  • Support the delivery of high-quality learning experiences in line with the KS2 curriculum.

  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and developing core skills in reading, writing, and maths.

  • Work closely with the class teacher to adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs.

  • Promote positive behaviour and social development.

  • Provide feedback to teachers and contribute to pupil progress records.

  • Foster a safe, happy and inclusive classroom environment.

Ideal KS2 Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children in a primary school setting, ideally in Key Stage 2.

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills as a Teaching Assistant.

  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting children’s learning.

  • Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
