Job description

Role: Year 1 Teacher
Ofsted: GOOD
Area: Openshaw M11
Salary: MPS/UPS, Dependent on experience
Contract: Fulltime, July 2025
Start: April 2025

A thriving, Ofsted-rated GOOD primary school in Manchester M11 is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join their staff from April 2025 or sooner. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive, forward-thinking team committed to nurturing young learners and creating an inclusive, engaging environment for all students. The school are happy to pay to scale from day 1 for this role. The Head teacher is keen on inclusivity within the school for both staff and pupils. The role would be to work full time across Years 1, 2 & 3. You would be allocated your own PPA time; however, all planning will be prepared for each day. This is a full-time position until July 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. PPA cover across Year 1, 2 and 3.
  2. Support the academic, social, and emotional development of each child, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  3. Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and enriching learning environment.
  4. Maintain high standards of behaviour and promote a love for learning.
  5. Regularly communicate with parents/carers regarding student progress.

Requirements:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  2. UK experience.
  3. Experience or specialism in teaching Key Stage 1.
  4. Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and best teaching practices.
  5. A passion for working with young children and a commitment to their development.
  6. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to the wider school community.
  7. Excellent classroom management skills and a positive attitude.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

  1. Experience in planning and delivering phonics programs.
  2. Familiarity with SEND strategies and inclusive education.
  3. Ability to use technology effectively in the classroom to enhance learning.
