Salary: £425 - £550 per week (Depending on recent experience and qualifications)

GSL Education are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and supportive KS1 / KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Barnsley. As a KS1 / KS2 Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting both teachers and students in the classroom, helping to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment. Your assistance will help children grow academically, socially, and emotionally, enabling them to reach their full potential.

What You’ll Be Doing:

1. Assisting teachers in delivering lessons to students in KS1 (Key Stage 1) and KS2 (Key Stage 2).
2. Supporting students with their academic work, ensuring they stay engaged and on track.
3. Helping with the management of classroom behaviour and promoting positive learning attitudes.
4. Working with individual students or small groups to provide additional support as needed.
5. Encouraging children’s personal, social, and emotional development.
6. Communicating effectively with teachers and staff to ensure students’ needs are met.

Who We’re Looking For:

1. Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in KS1 or KS2.
2. A passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
4. Patient, empathetic, and proactive in supporting students.
5. An up-to-date CV covering last 10 years with no gaps unexplained.
6. An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
