Location: Firm Wide

Term: Permanent
Vacancy Reference: 1349-BBL

Who we are

You’ll be joining a national law firm that enjoys a strong reputation, made possible by our exceptional people – each chosen for their industry knowledge and passion for their field. We want to help you to reach your full potential, love the work you do and deliver the best results for your clients. It’s our goal to make you feel great about working with us, and we work hard to cultivate a culture that makes it easy for you to stay with us for many years.

We work flexibly and you’ll be empowered to work where you do your best work, balancing your individual needs with the need for us to engage as teams and deliver excellent client service.

Most of our people choose to work in a hybrid fashion, working from home and attending our offices on occasion. Our offices are in Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton, and Taunton.

Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:
  • Manage a portfolio of client facing knowledge technologies, helping to drive the ongoing development, adoption and engagement of these solutions, ensuring that we leverage them to add maximum value.
  • Work with our knowledge, innovation and lawyer teams to assess the business requirements and to take new business innovation ideas from inception to launch testing, developing and deploying solutions, ensuring they are aligned to strategic goals and key drivers and with clear KPIs.
  • As product owner for some of our client facing collaborative platforms you will be responsible for developing the product roadmap, governance processes, guidance and training for each solution.
  • Work collaboratively with IT to develop practical solutions for internal (and client facing) business issues, leveraging our internal technology stack.
  • Assist with the introduction, training and embedding of new legal client facing technologies and solutions within legal teams.
  • Engaging directly with end users to understand their requirements and provide advice on how these tools can enhance support, drive operational efficiency and contribute to the firm’s overall success.
  • Work with Head of Knowledge, lawyers and clients to test and develop new solutions, combining their specialist legal knowledge and your expertise with emerging technologies.
  • Act as first line contact and SME, providing advice and administrative support to end users on their day-to-day queries regarding the firm’s external collaboration platform and client technology facing solutions.
  • Collate, analyse and react to data driven insights within these platforms – pinpointing where and how tech can be used to inform decisions.
  • Promote, grow, and support usage of these technologies – delivering training, presentations, and demonstrations to our end users.
  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of pitches to clients.
  • Some ad hoc direct contact with clients on client facing knowledge enquiries.
  • Keep up to date with new developments in client facing technology, continue to benchmark and suggest new ideas.
  • Provide ad hoc support for Knowledge aligned projects.

It is an integral part of this role that you comply with information security and all firm policies and procedures.

This role is right for you if:
  • Experience and proficiency in using client facing technologies (for example HighQ, DocuSign and AI) and has a strong understanding of governance guardrails.
  • Experience using document automation solutions such as Contract Express or another tool would be beneficial.
  • You will have built workflow automation using client facing low code / no code solutions.
  • Comfortable dealing with data and has previous experience in creating reports and dashboards to monitor usage, engagement and ROI.
  • Ability to scope and map processes with key stakeholders, to analyse and build technical requirements in order to support a business case for innovation.
  • Strong technology and IT systems skills. You will ideally be a person that enjoys the challenge of learning and mastering unfamiliar technology and products.
  • A relevant qualification would be extremely beneficial, but candidates qualified by experience will be equally considered.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a KM or legal technology role with a professional services environment – a law firm or legal department is ideal.
  • An understanding of the role of KM and KM systems with a complex legal or professional services setting is ideal but not mandatory.
