About the Role
As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll be an essential part of our production team, ensuring the production kitchen operates smoothly, safely, and hygienically. You’ll be responsible for cleaning production utensils and equipment, fermenting barrels, and maintaining cleanliness across the facility, including common areas, offices, and staff uniforms when needed.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic production kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment and utensils are properly cleaned, stored, and ready for use.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise production utensils, equipment, and fermenting barrels to meet food safety standards.
- Wash and sterilise tools, containers, and equipment used in food preparation and fermentation.
- Assist in preparing workspaces, ensuring utensils and equipment are available and ready for use by the production staff.
- Keep kitchen areas tidy by storing utensils and equipment in the appropriate areas.
- Provide assistance to supervisors, team leaders, and production staff during busy periods.
- Dispose of waste correctly, ensuring proper segregation of materials and adherence to recycling procedures.
- Support housekeeping activities, including maintaining cleanliness in common areas, offices, and storage spaces.
- Wash, dry, and fold staff uniforms.
- Sweep and mop floors to ensure the facility is clean and hazard-free.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
