Rebel Tiger is a bold and innovative dark kitchen concept bringing Indian street food dishes to life in a new and exciting way. Guided by our motto, Indian with a Twist, we focus on creating fresh, healthy, and flavourful meals that cater to a range of dietary requirements. Whether it’s vegan, gluten-free, or halal, our menu is designed to be inclusive without compromising on taste. Based in Fulham, London, Rebel Tiger is on a mission to revolutionise Indian street food and bring it to the forefront of the delivery scene. As we gear up to launch, we’re looking for a passionate and entrepreneurial Kitchen Manager to help us build and lead our kitchen team and establish our processes from scratch.
The Role:
As our Kitchen Manager, you will play a crucial role in setting up and running the kitchen efficiently. You will work closely with the founder to bring Rebel Tiger’s vision to life. Your responsibilities will include overseeing food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality and hygiene, managing inventory, and developing processes that streamline kitchen operations. Given that we are a startup, the ability to work independently and take initiative is essential, especially during the early stages as we build the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and implement kitchen workflows, processes, and procedures to maximize efficiency and quality.
- Manage and oversee food preparation and cooking, ensuring consistency and compliance with food safety standards.
- Develop systems for storage and handling of produce to prevent waste and maintain freshness.
- Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff as the team grows.
- Collaborate with the founder to trial and refine recipes and ensure they translate seamlessly into a professional kitchen environment.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage stock, and place orders as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen that complies with all health and safety regulations.
- Assist in hiring and onboarding additional staff as the business grows.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a similar role, such as Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or Sous Chef.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and solutions-focused approach to challenges.
- A passion for bold, creative cuisine, and the ability to adapt and innovate with Indian-inspired flavors (prior experience in Indian cuisine is a plus but not essential).
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a small team.
- Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Experience in setting up or working within a dark kitchen or delivery-only model is a plus but not essential.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of a startup environment.
- The ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively without immediate supervision, especially during the initial phases.
What We Offer:
- A competitive salary of £37,000 per year.
- The opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and exciting startup, with the opportunity for job growth and evolution. If you excel as Kitchen Manager, there is potential to take on a larger role in establishing new locations as the business expands.
- A collaborative and supportive work environment where your contributions will directly impact the success of the business.
A Note for Previous Applicants:
We want to take a moment to apologize to any previous candidates who may not have received a response from us during our initial recruitment round. As a new startup, we were still fine-tuning our hiring processes. We’re now starting fresh and would love to encourage you to reapply if you’re still interested in joining the Rebel Tiger journey.
