Job Title: Key Account Manager / Surveyor
Location: Essex, CM5
Salary: £40,000 basic + Commission (OTE £70,000+)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Reporting to: Operations Director


About the Role:
An exciting opportunity to join a growing, forward-thinking national business operating within the drainage and plumbing industry. As an Account Manager / Surveyor, you'll be the face of the company—building strong relationships with clients, identifying new business opportunities, and managing projects from initial survey through to completion.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Act as the main point of contact for assigned clients
  2. Build and maintain long-term relationships with commercial customers
  3. Conduct site surveys and client meetings
  4. Prepare and submit quotations and technical reports
  5. Identify new sales opportunities with existing clients
  6. Seek out and develop new business leads
  7. Communicate client needs across relevant teams internally
  8. Manage projects in line with both client expectations and company objectives
  9. Collaborate closely with the sales and operations teams
  10. Participate in a telephone support rota (1 in 6 weeks), providing technical advice to engineers over the phone

Requirements:
  1. Minimum 2 years' experience in drainage, plumbing, construction, or a related industry
  2. Solid understanding of surveying and quoting in a commercial environment
  3. Full UK driving licence (essential)
  4. Comfortable travelling to and from our Ongar office
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  6. Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines
  7. Basic IT literacy is essential; proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is advantageous
  8. Professional appearance, good punctuality, and a strong team ethic
  9. Positive, resilient attitude and a sense of humour appreciated within a close-knit team

What We Offer:
  1. £40,000 basic salary
  2. Uncapped commission - OTE £70,000+
