Junior PHP Developer

Location: Manchester

We are looking for a bright, professional, and enthusiastic individual with experience of working in an office environment; the candidate must have excellent communication skills, able to work well with a team and can also manage their own workload and time management.

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic junior developer to join our team. You will be working closely with the senior development team and eCommerce manager, developing bespoke components, fixing bugs, and general maintenance, whilst honing your skill set across our existing blue-chip client base. The ideal candidate for this role must have great communication skills, ability to work well within a team, a fantastic eye for detail, and has a passion to learn and further their skills.

This is a hybrid office role, and the candidate should expect to be in the office 2-3 days per week to support internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities Include

1. Working on minor bug fixes.
2. Testing/UAT of components.
3. Development of minor components.

Must Have

1. Excellent skills in HTML5, CSS3, PHP, JS, and XML.
2. Experience programming PHP within any of the following well-known frameworks: Symfony, Magento, Laravel, Zend.
3. Strong communication and written skills.
4. Experience with mobile first design & accessibility best practices.
5. Strong documentation skills, ability to communicate effectively, team player in a small but diverse environment.
6. Experience with source control.

It would be useful if the candidate had experience with:

1. Experience with eCommerce Frameworks such as Magento.
2. Knowledge of design patterns.
