Job description

Description

We are looking for a Junior Retail Designer, who will be responsible for the design & manufacture of fixtures, fittings & equipment to be used within our retail spaces.

This role includes design development, technical development & prototyping.

The Team

The Property Development team play a lead role to the overall delivery of our new store & store upgrade programme.

We are passionate about your development, and we are keen for you to learn new skills. Footasylum will enable you to gain experience in areas you feel passionate about plus excel in confidence in your working practices. You will be encouraged and supported through your projects by the team and the wider business.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have some previous experience within retail.

  • A creative background with experience in a retail environment (inc. retail sales).
  • You will have a keen eye for retail & have the ability to bring new ideas to the business to keep the store concept developing.
  • Knowledge for what it takes to design FF&E for retail.
  • Basic understanding of manufacture processes & prototyping.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup or other design software.
  • Experience working in 3D visual software such as SketchUp (or similar).
  • Able to work in Adobe Software such as Illustrator & InDesign.
Responsibilities
  • You will be working with a brief to deliver technical drawings of in store components to external suppliers for prototyping.
  • You will create new, bespoke joinery, upholstered furniture & custom metalwork fixtures for use in retail spaces alongside our Marketing & Visual Merchandising teams.
  • You will value engineering existing in store fixtures, fittings & furniture.
  • You will offer input to creative meetings.
  • You will build lighting, design & furniture packs relating to individual projects.
  • You will work alongside our implementation designer on new store projects as well as the development team on small works projects.
  • You will provide visual renders of any fixturing & store concept ideas which could be presented internally & externally.
  • You will create bespoke design packs to company guidelines.
