The Radiology nursing team is currently looking for a Junior Radiology Charge Nurse Band 6 to join the team; the successful candidate will need to be a dynamic, enthusiastic individual, with previous leadership experience.
While previous Radiology nursing experience is preferable, full induction and training will be provided. We encourage and give staff the opportunity to develop their skills and competencies within this specialty.
The Radiology nursing team provide an invaluable service supporting patients undergoing Radiology guided procedures across the Trust's three acute hospital sites. We work closely with multiple specialties, GPs, consultants, and other hospital departments.
Managerial Leadership
To provide continuing responsibility for the nursing department at your base site and support as required across the radiology nursing teams trust wide.
Ensure staff competence for clinical practice procedures, using Trust competency framework, including appropriate underpinning knowledge and practical skill.
Clinical and Professional Leadership
Use clinical skills and knowledge to provide specialist advice and support to peer group staff, patients, and relatives.
Act as a clinical expert and positive role model for all staff.
Provide professional leadership, advice, and guidance to nursing and non-nursing staff, within the Radiology department and foster collaborative partnerships with other disciplines.
Lead in the development of clinical standards ensuring these are set, embedded, and monitored in accordance with the needs of the service in conjunction with the Senior Radiology Nursing Manager.
Patient Safety and Quality Improvement
To always act in a professional manner in accordance with the NMC guidelines. Safe, efficient, and effective administration of medicines in accordance with the NMC guidelines.
Implementation of action plans to address areas which fall below acceptable standard.
Ensure that all quality initiatives within the nursing environment are adhered to and that the highest standards of care are maintained at all times.
