We are seeking a Junior Digital Project Manager to join our growing team. This role is perfect for someone looking to develop their career in project management within the digital sector. You will work closely with our senior project managers and development teams to oversee the delivery of web and software projects, ensuring they meet client requirements, timelines, and budgets.
You’ll be involved in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, gaining exposure to a variety of project types while developing your own skills as a project management professional.
Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Assist in the management and coordination of digital projects, ensuring smooth delivery from start to finish.
- Client Liaison: Communicate with clients to ensure project requirements are clear, and expectations are aligned. Assist in providing regular updates and reports.
- Team Support: Work with developers, designers, and QA teams to ensure projects are progressing on time, identifying any potential blockers and resolving them proactively.
- Agile & Waterfall Methodologies: Support the application of Agile practices such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Assist in Waterfall-based projects, ensuring deadlines and milestones are met.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain project documentation, including project plans, timelines, and status reports. Help prepare and distribute client-facing documents and internal project summaries.
- Risk Management: Track and identify potential project risks and issues, escalating them as needed and working with senior team members to implement mitigation strategies.
- Quality Assurance: Help ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards, performing basic checks where necessary and collaborating with the QA team.
- Time and Budget Tracking: Support senior project managers in tracking project time, resources, and costs to ensure projects stay within scope.
- Admin: Attending and minuting client meetings as required. Ensuring project documentation is complete, kept current and appropriately stored within Confluence & working with project management tools.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Project Management Basics: Some experience (or a solid understanding) of managing digital projects or working within a digital environment, ideally in a junior or assistant role.
- Methodology Exposure: Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Experience with Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients and team members effectively.
- Organisation: Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify challenges early and suggest potential solutions.
- Tech Savvy: A basic understanding of digital project workflows, including web development, UI/UX design, and testing processes.
- Tools Knowledge: Experience with project management tools like Jira or Trello is beneficial, but not essential.
- Team Player: You’re a collaborative individual who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail: An ability to proof-read and eye for detail, including strong spelling and grammar.
- Calm under pressure: Good prioritization skills and pro-active nature.
