Junior Production Manager

Are you a motivated graduate looking to take the next step in your production management career? We are seeking a Junior Production Manager to join our dynamic team in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with early career experience in production, engineering, or operations management to gain hands-on leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Role Overview:

As a Junior Production Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing production processes, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards. Working closely with senior management, you will lead and support production teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and uphold health & safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Motivate and direct production teams to meet quality and efficiency targets
2. Oversee workflow, ensuring deadlines and customer specifications are met
3. Support production operations, covering staff absences when needed
4. Manage stock levels of materials and consumables
5. Ensure compliance with health & safety and housekeeping standards
6. Conduct regular team briefings and manage staff leave/working arrangements
7. Implement Lean Manufacturing Principles (5S/6S, waste elimination, OEE improvement)
8. Challenge processes to ensure they add value to the business
9. Support the adoption of automated process control systems (Siemens S7)

What We’re Looking For:

1. Degree/Apprenticeship in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations Management
2. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
3. A proactive, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset
4. Knowledge or interest in Lean Manufacturing, 6S, and reliability engineering
5. Experience or interest in automated process control (Siemens S7) (preferred)
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
7. Familiarity with SAP S4 (preferred but not required)
