Junior Production Engineer

Our client is seeking a Junior Production Engineer to join their team within a highly technical, electro-mechanical manufacturing environment. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated individual who is eager to enhance their engineering skills while playing a key role in supporting low-volume, high-precision production operations. The successful candidate will work closely with a small, dedicated team and will gain exposure to various aspects of the production process.

Key Responsibilities of a Junior Production Engineer:

1. Provide daily engineering support to production teams.
2. Assist in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining production processes and reducing costs.
3. Support the New Product Introduction process to transition new products into production.
4. Contribute to improving product quality, process efficiency, and health & safety standards within the production environment.
5. Develop comprehensive build and test instructions for production use.
6. Participate in time studies and work assessments to help establish standard assembly times.
7. Support the design and deployment of new tools, fixtures, and equipment to improve assembly processes.

Key Attributes of a Junior Production Engineer:

1. Enthusiastic and highly motivated with strong organisational and time management skills.
2. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
3. High attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
4. Basic electrical/electronic fault-finding skills are a plus.

Experience of a Junior Production Engineer:

1. Degree in an Engineering discipline.
2. Some experience in a technical role within a manufacturing environment is desirable, though not essential.
3. Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems and an understanding of basic production methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or 5S practices is advantageous.
4. Willingness to learn and grow within the role, with a proactive approach to acquiring new skills.
