Junior Merchandiser - London Office
Department Overview:
The primary purpose of this position is to initiate analysis and develop robust financial and merchandising strategy for a growing Omni-channel retail business. The role manages and is responsible for the Small Leather Goods category within the wider Accessories Department, ensuring the maximization of commercial opportunities. Reporting to the Senior Planner.
What You’ll Do:
- Set and manage financial targets by category across an Omni-channel business.
- Update and manage monthly OTB; presenting risks and opportunities to senior management.
- Create reports/recaps of the business, monitoring the performance of sales, inventory, markdowns, and profit by classification from a top-line to store level.
- Alongside buying counterpart, recommend buys based on thorough analysis of retail business prior to each market to achieve increased sales, profitability, and sell-thru %. Make assortment decisions according to regional needs.
- Manage allocator to ensure distribution actions that support the achievement of financial plans, product strategies, and ensuring ideal stocks by store are monitored.
- Manage promotional and markdown activities to support achievement of sales and inventory plans, with robust exit strategies for old stock.
- Think commercially about how to improve performance of departments and identify ways to improve business.
You’ll Need to Have:
- Must be working at a Junior Planner/Junior Merchandiser level or be an experienced Senior Assistant Planner/Merchandiser ready for the next challenge (minimum 1-2 years experience at Senior AP level).
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree.
- Computer Literate – Advanced Excel Skills.
- Strong analytical skills, creative problem-solving skills, and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment are a must. Candidates must be dynamic, resilient, and happy to do business at a fast pace.
