Junior Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services)

£30k - £36k Dependent on Experience

Totnes, Devon - Hybrid & Flexible Working

MEP Mechanical Design Engineer / Building Services / Mechanical Design Engineer / Junior Mechanical Design Engineer

This role is to join a building services design team with a great ethos and high professional standards, making it the perfect place for your formative years as a mechanical design engineer.

They are responsible for the design of all the mechanical and electrical functions within buildings such as HVAC, lighting, hot and cold water systems, plant rooms, access control, fire alarm systems, and data communications.

These functions can be applied to almost every type of building, so you could be working on the design of buildings in any of the following sectors: commercial, retail, leisure, industrial, and hotels.

Responsibilities - Junior Mechanical Design Engineer

  1. Assisting senior engineers with the preparation of outline design schemes.
  2. Visiting site during the construction phase to monitor progress.
  3. Ensuring services conform to the latest building regulations and technical standards.
  4. Producing drawings under the direction of engineers.
  5. Assisting with the checking of documents and carrying out detailed calculations.
  6. Undertaking duties as indicated to obtain further experience and training in Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications
  1. MEng / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  2. Previous experience in the building services / MEP design sector would be beneficial.
  3. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.
