Dekra Process & Safety are now recruiting for a Junior Laboratory Technician to join the team based in Hampshire!

Junior Laboratory Technician (ExL)

Location: DEKRA Process Safety, Southampton, Hampshire
Salary: Up to £22,300 DOE + Benefits!
Contract: Permanent 08:45-17:00 – Monday to Thursday, 08:45-15:10 Friday

Within the UK, the company has fully equipped ISO & GLP compliant laboratory facilities on the outskirts of Southampton, in the beautiful setting of Southampton Science Park, and we are looking for an individual with the right calibre to join our friendly team.

Junior Laboratory Technician – The Role

As a Junior Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for conducting testing in line with SOPs following GLP standards, maintaining laboratory files and archives, and reporting results to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensuring the laboratory is maintained in a clean and safe condition
  2. Conduct testing to GLP without supervision
  3. Backing-up and archiving of raw data
  4. Perform equipment calibrations, maintain calibration records and conduct test system checks
  5. Training other staff to conduct testing when competent to do so
  6. Ensuring personal protective equipment is maintained and kept in good condition

Junior Laboratory Technician – What we need from you

Key Skills & Experience:

  1. GCSE Grade C (Grade 4) or above in Maths, English and Science.
  2. Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  3. Previous laboratory experience desirable
  4. Methodical approach to tasks
  5. Attentive to detail with a strong work ethic
  6. Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  7. Able to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  8. Own transport
