Job Description:

Estio Training has an exciting new opportunity for a Junior IT Support Engineer with Natpoint, an IT Support company, based at Elstree Aerodrome, Hertfordshire.

Role Summary:

A Support based hands-on Junior IT role based on-site at the HQ in Edgeware. The role will grow in responsibility and autonomy as the candidate gains skills and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1st Line IT Support
  • Troubleshooting
  • Using Software to fix and enhance customer systems
  • Managing hardware systems and up-selling
  • Basic Security measures, i.e., managing firewalls and security settings
  • Maintenance of networks, Mac and Windows

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements: 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent, including English Language and Maths.

Skills Required:

  • Interest in the IT industry
  • Basic experience or junior qualification
  • Desire to forge a career within the IT industry and seek to progress internally

Personal Qualities:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Approachable and helpful personality
  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn

Future Prospects:

This role offers the potential for a permanent position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, contingent on performance.

  • Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment, and monitoring of infrastructure components.
  • Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintain system performance.
  • Maintain regulatory, legal, and professional standards.
  • Support the information systems needs for your business.
