Job description

Our client, who are a well-established global freight forwarder, is seeking a Junior Freight Coordinator to join their team in Ipswich.

This role involves managing the end-to-end freight process, including freight planning, order handling, and customs clearance. You'll be responsible for ensuring all shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with service standards.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday 09:00-17:30

Package:

  • Salary up to 25,000 (dependent on experience)
  • 23 days holiday + bank holidays

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full order processing and coordination of freight
  • Analyse customer orders for accuracy and feasibility
  • Plan and book transportation for varied freight
  • Handle customs procedures and documentation
  • Generate invoices and maintain accurate digital records
  • Provide updates to internal and external stakeholders via email, phone, or EDI
  • Resolve operational issues promptly
  • Report non-conformities in line with KPIs
  • Liaise with approved subcontractors within agreed rates
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation and order handling

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months experience in logistics and freight forwarding operations
  • UK based/Right to work in the UK (No sponsorship on offer)
  • Basic understanding of UK freight procedures
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office (and/or other logistics platforms)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments
