Junior Field Service Engineer - Solar - Yeovil

Astute's Renewables team is exclusively partnering with a utility scale solar O&M company to recruit a Junior Field Service Engineer for its sites in Somerset and the surrounding areas.

This role comes with a salary of 30,000 - 36,000 DOE, company van and provides an excellent opportunity to move into the utility scale solar world.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will:

• Assist with planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements. Learn around reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and standard operating procedures.
• Perform reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner.
• Carry out site surveys as required.
• Compile accurate and appropriate documentation for both internal and external stakeholders in a precise and timely manner.
• Keep accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, High Voltage and safety documents that are suitable for audit.
• Ensure that work output meets technical quality, reliability, cost, and productivity.
• Comply with the company Health & Safety Policy.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualifications or equivalent.
• 17th/18th (preferably) edition wiring regulations.
• Ideally at least a year's experience in electrical installation/maintenance work in either an industrial, commercial or domestic capacity.
• Full UK licence.

The Junior Field Service Engineer role would suit someone who is:

• Happy to travel around to sites in a field-based role.

• Salary of between 30,000 to 36,000 DOE (the upper end is for someone with more working experience and likely for those with some solar).
