Job description

Job Title: Junior Engineer

Salary: GBP20,000 - GBP25,000 depending on experience

Location: Nottinghamshire

Start Date & Contract: Immediate, Permanent Contract, Full-time.

Are you looking to get your career started within the Scientific & Engineering sector? A fantastic and unique opportunity is now available to join the sales and support team of a well-renowned Life Sciences company.

As a Junior Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the wider Sales & Support team with stock control and management, assisting with warehouse and maintenance tasks, attending site visits and learning from more senior engineers to upskill and progress professionally alongside the team!

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Handling Goods in and Goods out at the service centre (Class A Pallet stacker operator training & licence will be required/provided).
  • General Facility operational tasks, such as keeping the place tidy, emptying the bins such as general waste and recycling.
  • Refurbishment of Key Modules in the workshop (Pipette Heads, cyclers etc).
  • Repair and Refurbishment of Instruments in the workshop.
  • Maintenance of the service and calibration equipment at the facility.
  • QC checks of instruments prior to installation at customer sites.
  • Accompany the Field Service Engineers on site visits as required.

About you:

  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to travel to and from place of work in line with working hours.
  • Willing to learn new skills and develop a career in the Life Science industry.
  • Good general practical skills as well as excellent attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prepared to work on your own initiative as well as working as part of a team.
