The opportunity

Working closely with the Platform Operations Team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing machine learning models to protect against fraud and ensure seamless transaction monitoring. You will collaborate with the Data Engineering, Product, and Compliance teams to integrate AI-driven solutions into Shieldpay's operations. Your insights will shape data-led strategies that strengthen security and elevate the overall customer experience.

What Youll Be Doing

1. AI-Driven Transaction Monitoring: Develop and implement machine learning models to detect anomalies and potential fraudulent transactions.
2. Data Insights & Business Impact: Analyse transaction data to identify trends, customer behaviours, and opportunities for product improvements.
3. Decision Support: Work closely with stakeholders to translate data insights into actionable business strategies.
4. Algorithm Development & Experimentation: Explore AI techniques to enhance both fraud detection and customer experience through data-driven recommendations.
5. Collaboration & Integration: Work alongside the Data Engineer, Product Team, and Compliance Team to ensure AI models and insights are effectively integrated into our operations.
6. Self-Learning & Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with AI advancements and industry best practices to refine models and analytics.

What We're Looking For In You

We are looking for a curious and motivated candidate with:

1. A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
2. Proficiency in Python, R, and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
3. An understanding of AI applications in transaction monitoring, fraud detection, and predictive analytics.
4. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large datasets to uncover valuable insights.
5. A self-driven approach to learning and problem-solving, as they will need to develop expertise independently.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into business impact.
