Vacancy: Junior Client Relationship Manager

Important note: this is not an entry-level role. Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years' experience and possess a technical private client qualification i.e. Chartered Tax Advisor or experience in the private client department of a law firm or be ACA qualified with private client expertise.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The primary focus of this role is to support the UK Family Office Client Relationship Management team in providing excellent service to a portfolio of ultra-high net-worth clients. The role will involve regular liaison with clients, internal stakeholders in multiple jurisdictions, and external stakeholders alike. The successful incumbent will be the clients’ first point of contact in the absence of the Client Relationship Manager/Senior Client Relationship Manager and in time, it is expected that the successful candidate will become fully responsible for the maintenance and servicing of their own clients.

Key Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES
Relationship Management Responsibilities

  1. Providing client servicing support to one (or more) Client Relationship Manager/Senior Client Relationship Manager and their clients; representing the Client Relationship Manager/Senior Client Relationship Manager as appropriate. This should lead to the development of long-term client relationships where the Manager ultimately takes responsibility for all forms of contact/communication with the client and their advisers.
  2. Day to day tasks include:
    1. Receiving queries from clients and other internal contacts and resolving / escalating as required.
    2. Consulting with third party professionals such as lawyers, tax specialists and asset managers to obtain the relevant advice required.
    3. Preparation of data and presentation packs for client meetings.
    4. Developing and maintaining relationships with other departments within the Stonehage Fleming group to effectively manage a client’s affairs and be aware of opportunities to generate new business.
    5. Ensuring all transactions pertaining to the management of the client’s affairs are executed timely, efficiently and accounted for correctly.
    6. Obtain in-depth knowledge of our clients, their businesses and family dynamics and maintain the client file with meeting notes.
    7. Where relevant, review legal/financial/tax documentation prepared by third party advisers, (including financial statements, tax returns and contracts) and provide comments.
    8. Support ongoing client monitoring including client reviews and fee queries.
    9. Ensure compliance with group principles, all regulatory requirements and standards.
    10. Such other duties as may reasonably be required by management from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Educated to degree level.
  2. A technical private client qualification (i.e. Chartered Tax Advisor or experience in the private client department of a law firm, ACA qualified with private client expertise). Therefore should meet the following:
    1. Awareness of UK tax as it applies to UK and offshore trusts, and UK resident individuals.
    2. Awareness of corporate and trust structuring and the principles of corporate governance in a family setting.
  3. Previous experience of supporting Relationship Managers in a HNW / UHNW environment.
  4. Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer requirements.
  5. Good general knowledge of wealth management and wealth structures.

  3. Knowledge of relevant regulated and non-regulated products, services, and reporting requirements.
