Job description

An established consultancy, offering transport planning and highway design solutions, require a new CAD Technician to join the team in a role that will help define and develop their career.

This is an inspiring environment where enthusiastic and highly motivated team members can experience career evolution in the transport planning arena.

The Junior CAD Technician will assist with the production of highway designs, that will include calculations, drawings and specifications to relevant local and national highway standards. The implementation of a range of highway schemes will be delivered via feasibility, design and construction stages, where your responsibility will be to prepare designs and drawings, liaise with utility providers (and other service provider companies) and gain technical approvals from the Local Highway Authority.

Responsibilities:
  1. Designing and implementing highway design solutions for clients in the private and public sectors
  2. Developing effective collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, external providers and other agencies
  3. Preparing reports, drawings, schedules, cost estimates and other documents
Required Skills:
  1. Good levels of numeracy, including a good understanding of spreadsheets
  2. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to clearly communicate findings from complex data
  3. Ability to work easily and accurately with numbers
  4. Confident written and verbal communication skills
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills
  6. Advanced use of Microsoft Office software packages
  7. Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD
