£31,000 - £34,000 + 33 days holiday + pension + hybrid working

Are you a buyer from the marine, oil & gas or engineering sector looking to progress your career in an exciting role supporting the largest wholly UK-owned fleet currently in process of building 40 new vessels?

Are you looking to become a key member of the purchasing team where you will be the go-to person for procuring goods and services across the business?

On offer is the opportunity to join the team where the main purpose of the role is to provide a central focal point for the company's procurement across the fleet and the shore-based offices, warehouses and workshops, ensuring operational efficiency.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be part of a business that is in an exciting new phase of growth and you will have the opportunity to train and progress your career.

Responsibilities:

1. Using the company approved Purchasing system
2. Compliance with Purchasing policy and procedures and Safety Management System
3. Ensure goods and services are purchased at competitive prices that are fit for purpose regarding safety, function, and certification
4. Sourcing suppliers
5. Sending RFQs for goods and services
6. Expediting Purchase orders, keeping requestor(s) advised of delivery issues
7. Liaise with engineering superintendents and other internal customers
8. Liaise with suppliers, customers, and accounts payable to ensure timely payment of invoices
9. Be methodical with Requisitions, RFQs, Quotations, Order acknowledgements, and Delivery notes to ensure that there is a clear audit trail

The person:

• Procurement background ideally in Marine / Oil & Gas / Engineering sector
