We are looking for a Junior Automation Test Engineer to be responsible for ensuring quality throughout the software development lifecycle and working with cross-functional teams to build and maintain automated tests.

You will be accountable for:

  • Increasing the level of automation to improve quality and reduce deployment lead time.
  • Ensuring automation is considered early and is part of the acceptance criteria.
  • Learning to analyse requirements to identify all relevant tests and edge cases.
  • Designing, developing and executing high quality automated test scripts.
  • Utilising our existing test automation framework.
  • Supporting System Integration, E2E testing and Regression team activity.
  • Identifying potential issues and escalating to the relevant team.
  • Sharing knowledge through documentation and presentations.
  • Maintaining, improving and executing existing regression packs.
  • Supporting the investigation and troubleshooting of issues and non-conforming software.
  • Staying up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.

To be successful in this role you will require the following…

  • Some knowledge of testing best practices.
  • Experience with an object oriented coding language.
  • Understanding of Agile practices.
  • Java programming language preferred.
  • Knowledge of JSON/XML data structures.
  • Knowledge of a relational database.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Passionate problem solver with a focus on high quality software.
  • BSc in Computing Science is desirable.
