About The Role

We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Junior Accounts Assistant to become a part of our dedicated finance team at Tropic.

This role is perfect for individuals who are eager to develop their accounting skills and contribute to the smooth running of our day-to-day financial operations. As a Junior Accounts Assistant, you will be working under the guidance of our Management Accountant, helping to maintain accurate financial records, process various transactions, and provide essential support to our broader finance team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Purchasing Board (Procurement Kanban)
    Place orders from the purchasing board, monitor and track deliveries of orders placed, ensuring they are received within the expected timeframes.
    Contact our suppliers and negotiate pricing.
  2. Credit Card Reconciliations and Expense Management System
    Monthly credit card reconciliations.
    Reconcile expense management system (Get Moss UK) statements.
    Import expense management system (Get Moss UK) transactions in NS.
  3. Bookkeeping
    Post GRNI invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
    Analyse received items and rates to ensure full accuracy and completeness of invoices.
    Identify discrepancies and irregularities in GRNI invoices and take appropriate actions to resolve them.
    Collaborate with Supply Chain & NPD teams to address and resolve invoice-related issues such as discrepancies related to the quantity and rates.
    Post overhead invoices.
  4. Additional Responsibilities
    Expense Tracking: Help manage colleague expenses, ensuring receipts are accurate and in line with company policy.
    Accounts Payable & Receivable: Support the management of accounts payable and receivable, including recording transactions and reconciling balances.
    Data Entry: Input financial data into accounting software (NetSuite) with high levels of accuracy.
    Filing & Documentation: Ensure that all financial documentation is organised, stored securely, and easy to access.
What We’re Looking For
  1. A-levels or equivalent (ideally with a focus on Accounting, Business, or Finance).
  2. Formal accounting training (such as AAT Level 2 or 3, part-qualified ACCA) is preferred.
  3. Experience in a finance or accounts-related role is beneficial but not essential.
  4. Experience using accounting software (NetSuite) is advantageous.
  5. Strong attention to detail and mathematical skills.
  6. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  7. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.
  9. Team player with a willingness to learn.
  10. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  11. Integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial information.
What We Offer

Location: Tropic HQ is a short walk from Beddington Lane Tram stop, with direct links to East Croydon and Wimbledon.
Hybrid Working: Enjoy a blend of office (3 days) and remote (2 days) working.
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Salary: Starting from £25,000 to £27,000 depending on experience.
