Wage Category: Annual Salary with Benefits

Report to: R&I Group Leader, Director of R&I

Afternoon Shift Schedule: 4:00PM – 12:30AM

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist R&D Batch team in daily tasks including working with production, compounding, and other laboratory responsibilities.
2. Work with formulators for line trial/pilot batches to troubleshoot and adjust formulas.
3. Safely utilize basic lab equipment and chemicals.
4. Comprehend and prepare formulations for submissions.
5. Work independently while managing multiple batches.
6. Implement learned techniques into developing improved formulas, products, and/or processes.
7. Document all activities in a log book for internal record and external audit purposes.
8. Efficiently and accurately work in a fast-paced environment.
9. Work directly with Compounding and Production team to ensure manufactured products meet standards.
10. Conduct required performance tests, interpret, record, and report results.
11. Interface with Production, Compounding, QA, Purchasing, and Sales & Marketing as required.
12. Assist the R&D team with resolving routine customer and production problems.
13. Assist senior lab personnel as necessary.
14. Execute special projects as assigned.
15. Maintain a safe and GMP working environment while following company policies and SOPs; ensuring the company’s safety and quality needs are met.
16. Work on Saturday shift if required or permanently.

Qualifications:

1. 4 years Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from a recognized University or equivalent preferred.
2. 1-3 years’ experience in a related manufacturing environment preferred.
3. Self-starter, self-motivated with proactive, and process ownership focus.
4. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced team environment.
5. Strong interpersonal & problem-solving skills and commitment to providing a high standard of quality work.
6. Ability to make and meet commitments/deadlines.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Consideration will be given for color matching experience in color cosmetics in lieu of education.
