We are looking for a Junior Designer to join our team in York. The ideal candidate will have some professional design experience looking to take the next step in their career as part of a successful, varied agency environment.

The team has a focus on Packaging, Point of Sale, digital and consumer experience campaigns. With clients including Nestlé, Coca-Cola, Kellogg’s, Pladis, Kimberly-Clark and Colgate-Palmolive, there is the opportunity to work across a varied mix of high-profile brands, and the range of projects means no two days are ever the same.

The successful candidate will have a passion for creative design with a keen eye for detail and enthusiasm to work as part of a fast-moving environment. You must have good knowledge of design software including Photoshop and Illustrator and be able to respond to a brief with a range of creative ideas supported by clear thinking and a high standard of finish.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Understanding creative design briefs from clients and senior team members.
2. Work on projects from concept phase through successful completion.
3. Develop and implement visual elements or creative concepts for project deliverables.
4. Translate existing and emerging concepts into actual brand and/or product designs.
5. Work collaboratively with other team members on larger creative projects.
6. Discuss ideas during creative meetings with clear rationale.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Fluent in the use of relevant design software for your projects (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Keynote, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A good understanding of typography, illustration, logo design, communication hierarchy, colour, etc.
