Do you have experience working directly with adolescents or young adults with emotional support and behavioral health diagnoses? Are you seeking a position that will assist young adults transition from school-based programming to community and post-education life/vocational skills?

Shift: 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday

Every day as a Job Coach you will:

  1. Develop activities to support the transition of students from childhood to adulthood
  2. Directly supervise, train, and coach students within the school and community job sites
  3. Work with students to achieve a level of accomplishment and productivity that allows for greater employment independence
  4. Work with a team to assess skills and level of functioning/participation and document progress and involvement of students
  5. Provide information and input based on level of participation, functioning, and progress to goals

The Mapleton School located in Malvern, PA offers an educational curriculum to children functioning at all grade levels. A multi-sensory educational strategy is used at all schools, employing traditional instruction, hands-on and independent learning, as well as technology, to individualize a student’s progress in all academic areas, particularly math and reading. The transition from school to career, and all of the necessary interrelated skills, are a main focus of the school program. Devereux’s approved private schools offer high-quality, innovative special education programs that work in tandem with families and school districts to ensure that students can return to their local schools and communities with the tools they will need to succeed. Children and young adults may come to Devereux as day students or as part of residential treatment. Each student has an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), which outlines goals for skill development and the best strategies by which the student can reach his/her goals.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, or related field preferred. High school diploma required.

EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience working with adolescents and young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders in a transition and employment setting preferred.
