About the Role

As a Java Back-End Engineer, you’ll collaborate closely with the CTO and an agile team to develop critical features for their payments infrastructure.

This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact through diverse projects such as:

• Checkout Systems: Building a multi-method checkout solution supporting card payments, financing, and open banking.
• Merchant Platform: Creating a merchant-facing app for transaction tracking, settlements, and financing.
• Developer Portal: Designing secure, observable APIs for merchants and developers.
• Terminal Features: Enabling advanced capabilities like split payments and financing for terminal applications.

The company is starting with a pilot group of SMB merchants, with plans to scale rapidly.

Who You Are

• 5+ years of experience in back-end development with Java and cloud environments (preferably GCP).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and secure API design.
• Proficient in gRPC, Postgres, and CI/CD pipelines.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience in fintech/payments.
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS compliance and security best practices.
