Java Developer

Job Title: Java Developer

Vertex IT Solutions works with a Global Financial Services organisation in the City. We are assisting our client in sourcing a Software Developer with Capital Markets experience.

Job Duties:

1. Developing software solutions in Java for real-time market data systems in various financial marketplaces.
2. Web and server-side Java programming using best practices.
3. Program/interact with SQL database systems.
4. Be experienced in all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle.
5. Create and maintain documentation on all developments aimed at support, developer, and user guide levels.
6. Develop support and diagnostic utilities for real-time support staff.
7. Understanding as well as creating UML diagrams.

Skills Required:

1. Familiarity with financial trading environments.
2. Experience with bus architectures would be an advantage.
3. Development experience in JAVA, C++, or C#.
4. Familiarity with major Financial Market Information Vendors.
5. A good appreciation of RDBMS technology (including experience of SQL usage) is beneficial.
6. A basic understanding of LINUX (if Windows literate) or Windows (if Linux literate) should be shown.
7. Experience of Agile development methods is preferred.
