Janitor/ Caretaker

Position: Caretaker/Janitor
Location: Kilmarnock
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Pay Rate: 13 per hour
PVG Check: Valid PVG required

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated Caretaker/Janitor to join our team in Kilmarnock. As a Caretaker/Janitor, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised environment for our clients' premises. You will be responsible for general cleaning, maintenance tasks, and ensuring that all areas are properly looked after.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cleaning and maintaining various areas of the premises (offices, hallways, restrooms, etc.)
2. Ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are consistently met
3. Performing routine maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, and ensuring equipment is in working order
4. Monitoring and maintaining cleaning supplies and equipment
5. Ensuring the security of the building, including locking up at the end of the shift
6. Responding promptly to any urgent cleaning or maintenance issues
7. Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements:

1. Valid PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) certificate is required
2. Previous experience in a caretaker or janitorial role is preferred but not essential
3. Good communication and organisational skills
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
5. Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented
6. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
