Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Install, configure, and set up computer systems, peripheral units (such as printers, scanners, and external storage devices), routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and software applications according to customer requirements.
  2. Provide technical assistance to customers and colleagues regarding computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.
  4. Ensure all installations adhere to industry standards and best practices.
  5. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including system updates, software patches, and hardware upgrades, to optimize system performance and security.
  6. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  7. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and products in the IT industry, particularly those related to computers, peripheral units, and software.
  8. Assist customers in selecting the right products and solutions to meet their specific requirements.
  9. Provide guidance on product features, compatibility, and functionality to ensure customers make informed purchasing decisions.
  10. Collaborate with sales staff to promote IT products and services, answer technical queries, and address customer concerns effectively.
  11. Monitor inventory levels of IT products and accessories, and assist with stock replenishment, merchandising, and organization within the retail store.
  12. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, service requests, and product inventory using appropriate software tools and systems.
  13. Generate reports on sales performance, service activities, and inventory status as required by management.
  14. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to IT security, data protection, and customer privacy.
  15. Implement measures to safeguard sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access or data breaches.
  16. Collaborate with colleagues across various departments, including sales, customer service, and technical support, to deliver a seamless and cohesive customer experience.
  17. Communicate effectively with team members to share knowledge, coordinate tasks, and address any issues or challenges that arise.

Requirements & Skills:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
  2. Proven experience in IT support, technical troubleshooting, and customer service, preferably in a retail environment.
  3. Proficiency in computer hardware, software installation, and troubleshooting techniques.
  4. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
  5. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
  6. Good knowledge of GDPR.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  8. Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  9. Familiarity with inventory management systems and retail operations is desirable.
  10. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar credentials are a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
