Are you a proactive IT professional with a strong knack for problem-solving and a passion for cloud-based technology? We're looking for someone who doesn't just fix issues but anticipates them, creating solutions before problems arise. Join a forward-thinking company that develops cutting-edge solutions in the medical and scientific industries, where your expertise will play a crucial role in improving lives worldwide.

In this role, you'll support the shift towards software support and cloud-based infrastructure, contributing to the evolving needs of the business. As the IT Systems Administrator & Helpdesk Coordinator, you'll be central to maintaining the smooth running of our IT operations while collaborating closely with external providers and ensuring compliance with increasingly structured IT processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Proactive Problem Solving: Take ownership of resolving IT issues and anticipating problems before they arise, providing strategic solutions that keep systems running smoothly.
  2. Cloud-Based Infrastructure: Manage and support cloud technologies (Azure, Office 365) and virtual environments, contributing to the transition from hardware/networking towards software and cloud-based operations.
  3. Service & Infrastructure Management: Oversee the performance of networks, switches, Wi-Fi, email, telephony, video conferencing, SAN storage, backups, and more, ensuring they remain secure and operational.
  4. Compliance & Structured Processes: Adapt to and manage growing compliance and management processes as part of integration with a wider IT function, ensuring all systems comply with company standards.
  5. Technology Updates & Security: Keep systems and software up to date, managing firewalls, antivirus systems, and security protocols to ensure secure and reliable operations.
  6. Collaboration & Project Involvement: Work with external IT providers and contribute to local and global IT projects, including software upgrades and system integrations.

What We're Looking For:

You should have proven experience as an IT Systems Administrator or Engineer, with skills in:

  1. Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and Office 365.
  2. Software Support: Ability to support software systems and applications, with an interest in shifting away from traditional hardware/networking to more software-focused environments.
  3. Security & Compliance: Experience managing IT security, including firewalls, antivirus systems, and data compliance.
  4. Technical Systems: Knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, and VMware.
  5. Project Coordination: Experience in managing or supporting IT projects, particularly those focused on cloud adoption, software upgrades, or infrastructure changes.
  6. ERP Systems: Experience with ERP systems (such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV) within manufacturing or other technical environments would be advantageous.

Key Attributes:
  1. Proactive Thinker: You anticipate issues and develop solutions before they become problems.
  2. Adaptable: Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with evolving compliance and process structures.
  3. Tech-Savvy: Passionate about learning new technologies and staying up to date with industry developments.
  4. Organised: Strong time management and prioritisation skills, ensuring tasks are completed in an efficient manner.
