IT Support Engineer 2nd / 3rd Line (Hybrid) - £26,000/£34,000 - Chester

Principal IT are working with a well-known MSP based in Chester who provide IT services to local businesses and are looking for a 2nd/3rd Line support engineer to join their team. In this role you will play a vital part in supporting their future strategy. They are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves troubleshooting, and has a passion for IT that extends beyond the screen.

Based in Chester but with a range of site visits across the area, you'll be the go-to IT expert for several highly prestigious clients, ensuring smooth-running systems and swift resolution of technical issues. You'll be handling everything from routine support to more complex third-line challenges.

The role involves the support of a wide range of IT systems, site visits to install equipment and fix issues, equipment builds, 365 migrations, server build configuration and support, switch, router and WAP installation, site survey, monitoring and application support, network infrastructure support, end-user advice and customer support calls - the all-round IT Engineer if you like.

Occasional on-call weekend work.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Support, taking calls from customers and solving technical issues remotely
2. Build, building and installing software onto Servers, PC's and laptops
3. Repair, assessment and repair of customer equipment, Servers, PC's and Laptops
4. Onsite, Installation of Servers, PC's and Laptops
5. Onsite, network maintenance and installation of network equipment, routers, switches, wireless access points etc.
6. Onsite, site assessment and auditing current equipment

Requirements:

1. Experience in a similar IT support role providing support for multiple companies and a wide range of IT systems
2. 365 Migration experience
3. Excellent fault diagnosis and troubleshooting skills
4. Good telephone manner and a good team player is essential
5. Experience in onsite installation
6. Experience in supporting Microsoft 365 Products
7. Experience in Microsoft Server installation and preferably 2nd / 3rd line support roles
8. Experience in the support of Microsoft Dynamics
9. Scripting skills such as Microsoft PowerShell would be an advantage, but not a requirement
10. Have a full UK driving license

The Package:

If successful, our client is offering a salary of between £26,000 and £34,000, annual pay rise, favourable holiday allowance, company bonus scheme, hybrid working & more.
