We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Support Engineer to join our Internal Support team here at Microlise! As a key part of our IT operations, you will ensure our systems run seamlessly by providing high-quality technical support to users based at our HQ in Nottingham. You will be key in maintaining the smooth operation of IT services, resolving issues efficiently and proactively improving the IT environment.

This role requires a balance of user support, system administration, and technical problem-solving to enhance the business's overall IT experience. You will be providing technical support to end-users, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations, whilst maintaining and administering internal IT systems.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal IT support requests, troubleshooting issues with hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings across Active Directory, Azure AD, and Intune utilizing basic scripting and automation using PowerShell.
  • Deploy and maintain endpoints using Intune, ensuring compliance with company policies through automated configurations and scripted remediation tasks, and application deployments via Intune.
  • Support internal business applications, including IFS (ERP), Salesforce, and other enterprise tools.
  • Assist in managing Windows servers for internal systems, including patching, updates, and performance monitoring.
  • Maintain and support network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, VPN, and LAN services.
  • Provide guidance and training to users to improve their IT proficiency and self-service capabilities.
  • Participate in IT projects to enhance infrastructure, security, and overall system efficiency.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely resolution of escalated issues.
  • Utilize ServiceNow for ticketing, incident tracking, and change management processes.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in an IT support or systems administration role, within a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune.
  • Experience with Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and Azure AD.
  • Familiarity with endpoint deployment and management using Intune or similar tools.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VPNs, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications such as ERP (IFS) and CRM (Salesforce) solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach to IT support.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience with ITSM (IT service management) systems for ticketing, incident management, and change management, ideally ServiceNow.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, ITIL) are desirable but not essential.
