Our Wellingborough based client is recruiting a skilled and motivated IT Project Manager on a permanent basis to lead complex international software projects from start to finish. This role is ideal for an experienced project manager with a strong technical background and the ability to navigate and drive challenging projects. You’ll play a crucial role as the interface between customers, project teams, external partners, and internal departments, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Full Project Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from cost estimation through to final operation, ensuring seamless execution.
2. Scope & Objective Development: Work closely with technical experts and business teams to define project scope and objectives, ensuring alignment with both technical and business requirements.
3. Detailed Project Planning: Develop and execute detailed project plans that ensure feasibility, efficient resource use, and adherence to timelines.
4. Resource & Budget Monitoring: Plan, monitor, and report on project resources, budgets, scopes, schedules, and milestones, maintaining a clear picture of project health.
5. Stakeholder Engagement: Manage and engage all project stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and development teams, to foster collaboration and address project needs.
6. Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and initiate measures to minimise project risks.
7. Project Documentation: Create, maintain, and monitor comprehensive project documentation, providing transparency and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
8. Meetings & Workshops: Organise and lead project kick-offs, meetings, and workshops to ensure alignment and keep all parties informed.
9. Direct Reporting: Report directly to the Head of IT Web Applications, providing updates on project status, challenges, and milestones.

About you ...

1. Educational Background: Completed studies in a relevant field, with strong project management experience and technical leadership skills.
2. Technical Expertise: Solid technical background, especially in web technologies. Hands-on experience with web application integrations (e.g., SAP) is a plus.
3. Project Management Experience: Proven track record of planning, implementing, and managing complex software/web projects, with an understanding of both agile and traditional project management methods.
4. Analytical Thinker: Excellent conceptual and analytical skills, with a thorough understanding of business and technical processes.
5. Communication Skills: Exceptional communicator, able to engage and influence various project stakeholders and present project details effectively.
6. Problem-Solving Abilities: Adept at navigating complex project challenges and confident in making strategic decisions to keep projects on track.
7. Certifications: Relevant certifications (such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, IPMA, PMI, Prince2, Design Thinking) are advantageous.
8. Proficiency: Fluent in English (spoken and written); proficiency in German is a plus.
9. Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel to various locations, including other company offices and customer sites.
