Type: Full-time

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum (negotiable)

We're recruiting on behalf of a growing, healthcare-focused organisation for a hands-on, forward-thinking IT Manager to lead and develop their IT function.

This is a newly created leadership role within a well-established business operating in the pharmacy and healthcare packaging sector. The organisation takes pride in its people-first culture, agile operations, and commitment to innovation—making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys delivering practical change through technology.

The successful candidate will take full ownership of the IT function, manage a small in-house development team, and oversee the relationship with a third-party MSP provider. You'll play a key part in shaping IT strategy, driving continuous improvement, and enabling smarter, more efficient ways of working across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Take full ownership of IT across infrastructure, systems, software, and security
  2. Lead and mentor a small internal development team, setting clear KPIs and performance objectives
  3. Manage the organisation's MSP IT support provider to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery
  4. Deliver strategic 90-day plans aligned to wider business goals
  5. Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, supported by SQL and Excel VBA
  6. Plan and deliver IT projects from inception to completion, with a focus on long-term business value
  7. Collaborate across departments to reduce inefficiencies and enhance system performance
  8. Diagnose root causes of issues and implement permanent, effective solutions
  9. Research and trial new software and tools, presenting recommendations to leadership
  10. Establish and track key performance indicators to drive accountability and ongoing improvement
  11. Keep the organisation up to date with relevant technological trends and opportunities
Requirements
About You
  1. A hands-on IT professional with a balance of technical skill and strategic thinking
  2. Experienced in leading small teams and managing third-party IT providers
  3. Confident working in a fast-paced, agile environment
  4. An excellent communicator, able to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  5. Detail-oriented, solution-focused, and committed to building robust systems and processes
Essential Skills & Experience
  1. Proven experience in IT management or senior-level IT leadership
  2. Strong technical skills in Power BI, SQL, and Excel VBA
  3. Sound understanding of IT infrastructure, systems integration, and business software
  4. A track record of delivering IT projects that align with commercial objectives
  5. Experience overseeing managed service providers (MSPs)
  6. Capable of setting priorities, planning effectively, and aligning IT strategy with business needs
  7. Familiarity with BI tools such as Phocas is advantageous
