Job description

Job Title: IT Manager (Standalone)

Location: Dorking (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time/Permanent

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven IT Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of information technology within our clients' organisation. As a standalone IT Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation and maintenance of all IT systems, hardware, software and network infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations for the business. You will also handle troubleshooting, security and provide support to staff on a wide range of IT-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. IT Strategy & Planning:
    Develop and implement the IT strategy and policies aligned with the company's objectives.
    Evaluate current technology needs and recommend new solutions to enhance productivity.
    Oversee the lifecycle management of IT systems and equipment, ensuring timely upgrades and replacements.
  2. Infrastructure Management:
    Manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware and software.
    Ensure network security, system reliability and data integrity.
    Oversee backups, disaster recovery planning and execution.
  3. User Support & Training
  4. Cybersecurity
  5. Vendor & Budget Management
  6. Documentation & Reporting
  7. Project Management

Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in IT management or a related role, with hands-on experience in network management, system administration and IT support.
  3. Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, security, and systems administration.
  4. Familiarity with software and hardware solutions for organisations.
  5. Experience with cloud computing, data backup systems and virtualization technologies.
  6. Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices and data protection regulations.
  7. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
