Job Description:

Estio Training is thrilled to offer a new opportunity for an IT Helpdesk/1st Line Support Engineer Apprentice for Comms-Byte IT Support and Services company based in Stockport.

Role Summary:

We are a small, close-knit team with a vibrant office environment and various Microsoft/Partner accreditations. We are a mix of individuals with a passion for IT and we always provide immense support to our apprentices and technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

As an IT Helpdesk/1st Line Support Engineer Apprentice, your main roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Providing customer support to external clients remotely.
  • Getting involved in new releases and installations, testing, project work, and general IT support.
  • Promoting a first-time fix focus, working on your initiative to resolve issues for clients and escalating issues where necessary.

The key tasks include:

  • Taking, analysing and resolving all first line support calls from clients.
  • Entering and ensuring that correct information on the call and resolutions is in the Company Helpdesk system.
  • Control of our system monitoring system and identification of potential problems.
  • Demonstrating initiative and the ability to think through and communicate resolutions at all levels.
  • Exhibiting exceptional communication skills at all levels.
  • Maintaining attention to detail to ensure effective customer contact.
  • Upholding our Company image and values.
  • Adhering to a smart dress code typical for an office environment.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements: 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent, including English Language and Maths.

Skills Required:

  • An excellent understanding of our Company Service Ethic, its ethos and general technical capabilities and concepts.
  • Strict adherence to the policies and procedures of the Company.
  • A smart appearance and professional image must be maintained.
  • A willingness to assist within other parts of the company.
