CGI are on the hunt for an Environments Manager who will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and optimizing the various IT environments used for software development, testing, and deployment. This role ensures that development, staging, and production environments are properly configured, stable, and available to support the software delivery lifecycle (SDLC). Please note: occasional travel will be required across Reading/ London and all candidates must hold active "SC clearance" due to customer requirements so please consider this when applying.

Your future duties and responsibilities

1. Environment Provisioning & Configuration: Set up and manage development, testing, and production environments, ensuring they are properly configured and maintained.
2. Infrastructure Management: Oversee cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
3. Monitoring & Issue Resolution: Continuously monitor environments, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime.
4. Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with development, QAT, DevOps, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment processes.
5. Automation & Optimization: Implement automation tools and processes to improve environment provisioning, testing, and deployment efficiency.
6. Access & Security Management: Ensure compliance with security policies, manage access controls, and enforce best practices for data protection.
7. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of environment configurations, deployments, and changes while providing reports on system health and usage.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

1. Strong expertise in environment management, infrastructure, and system administration.
2. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises infrastructure.
3. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, configuration management tools.
4. Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
5. Ability to troubleshoot networking, security, and system performance issues.
6. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
7. Experience in ITIL, Agile, or DevOps methodologies.

Desirable Experience:

1. Environment management, infrastructure operations, or DevOps.
2. Hands-on experience with automation scripting.
3. Understanding of database management and cloud-native architectures.
