IT Engineer

Role: IT Support Engineer

Location: Hereford

Salary: Up to GBP34,000 DOE

They are seeking an IT Engineer to join their team carrying out 1st / 2nd Line Support across multiple sites. What will you be doing as an IT Engineer?

You will work closely with the IT Manager and other IT Support Engineers supporting BAU 1st / 2nd Line Support and working on a multitude of projects currently in flight. Some duties will include:

1. 1st and 2nd Line Support to users via phone, email, ticketing systems and in person.
2. Software and Hardware support.
3. Network maintenance and provisioning.
4. Provide IT advice and training to users.
5. Deliver a proactive, efficient and effective User support service.
6. Liaise with Users to determine requirements.
7. Liaise with 3rd party suppliers for support and licensing.
8. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT equipment.
9. Ensure all User software is up to date.

What experience do you need as an IT Engineer?

1. Previous experience carrying out 1st and 2nd Line Support ideally within a Service Desk environment.
2. Experience of supporting Microsoft based operating systems including Windows 7/10 and Server 2008/2012/2014.
3. Strong working knowledge of Office 365.
4. Active Directory.
5. Ticket system management experience.
6. Experience working within an ITIL environment.
7. Excellent relationship builder with a friendly approach who is driven to deliver, autonomous and self-directed.
8. Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
9. Excellent telephone manner, customer orientation and customer service skills.
