This role involves providing technical support to staff for desktop computers, applications, and associated technology. Responsibilities include specifying, installing, and testing computer systems and peripherals according to established standards. The position requires interacting with application software and operating systems to diagnose and address unique, non-recurring issues.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proficient skills in managing IT infrastructure for users, including Desktops, Laptops, Printers, Handhelds, Smartphones, etc.
- Knowledge of ticketing tool is a must.
- Robust technical expertise in Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems and business productivity applications such as Office.
- Experience in administering MS Active Directory, including managing users, groups, policies, and related concepts.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in the field or a related area is mandatory.
- Previous experience with Desktops, Workstations, Notebooks, and Printers is essential.
- Collaboration skills, including remote PC control and proficiency in video conferencing.
Responsibilities involve ensuring appropriate levels of support for day-to-day operations and providing hands-on assistance for IT infrastructure projects/upgrades, especially in the workstation domain.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Comprehensive understanding of Outlook's calendaring tool.
- Knowledge of Exchange functional accounts and their utilization within Microsoft technologies.
- Successful completion of a background security check is a prerequisite.
Position Responsibilities and Functions
- Provide first/second level contact and problem resolution for customer issues.
- Work with Third Party Vendors to remediate complex AV issues as needed.
- Provide timely communication on issue status and resolution.
- Maintain ticket updates for all reported incidents.
- Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2010, Cisco Jabber, and other authorised desktop applications.
- Should have basic knowledge of Mac operating system, to support Apple PC users.
- Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot for printers and computer hardware.
- Perform general preventative maintenance tasks on computers, laptops, and printers.
- Perform remedial repairs on Desktops, laptops, printers and any other authorised peripheral equipment.
- Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity and workstation hardware/software.
- Broad experience of IT with basic understanding of Networks, Servers, Audio/Visual, Smart Devices and Telecoms.
- This position requires the ability to work in a project-based environment requiring flexibility and teamwork.
