Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Delivery Manager to join a high-growth and high-performance IT practice, responsible for developing transformative software applications for a leading Specialty Insurance firm in the City. The successful candidate will have demonstrable expertise in leading the agile delivery of complex digital services for highly regulated organisations. They will be responsible for several multi-disciplinary agile teams, overseeing the ongoing development and implementation of a range of greenfield services.

Responsibilities

• Leading the delivery and implementation of digital services, in line with the agreed quality and design expectations and standards set out by the business and Head of Engineering.
• Reporting into the Head of Engineering Delivery, ensure accurate documentation and communication amongst the Engineering, Platform, Component services, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
• Managing multiple product teams, supporting the development and delivery of a range of digital services for the London Market Underwriting business users.
• Providing leadership and clear direction to Product Owners and Engineering teams, ensuring delivery objectives and priorities are set out and understood by teams within Sprint, Kanban, or traditional delivery.
• Ensuring teams are delivering to best-in-class engineering practices and modern software development principles.
• Championing agile ways of working - sharing knowledge and ensuring best practices are upheld with direct reports and the wider team.
• Ensuring effective implementation of services post-development, standing up the Product Operating model from a technology perspective.
• Working closely with Business Users and product teams to understand, manage, and prioritise project backlogs and dependencies.
• Supporting the overall transition of delivery to agile and lean operating models across the Technology function.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have a depth of experience in delivering innovative and complex digital services in highly regulated environments. They will be confident in leading multiple scrum teams championing modern software development approaches, including Agile & CICD.

• Proven experience leading product engineering teams across a dispersed resource model.
• Deep understanding of engineering best practices to drive quality and productivity.
• Strong relationship-building skills and ability to lead, motivate, and be a role model amongst the practice.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate the technical to non-technical teams within the organisation.
• Demonstrable stakeholder and partnership management skills and ability to be effective in cross-group collaboration.
• Experience leading the build, automation, and management of enterprise software in Azure Cloud using Microsoft endpoint technologies.
• Solid appreciation for DevOps, working in a Continuous Integration & Continuous Development environment.
• All applicants must be SAFe / Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) Certified.

Desirable appreciation / familiarity with the following technologies

• Development languages and platforms – .NET (C#, ASP.net, MVC & VB.NET), Web APIs.
• Low Code platforms – Pega, NewGen, Power Apps, Unqork, Guidewire.
• Digital Platforms & CRM – Sitecore or Sitefinity.
• Key exposure to consuming SaaS platforms or services and Architectural awareness.
• Cloud Application Management via Azure DevOps, Pipelines.
• Integration platforms – BizTalk, Node JS, and Angular JS.
• Microservices via Azure Kubernetes (AKS) and Dockerisation.
• CICD platforms, being Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, AWS Code Deploy etc.

Additional Information

• Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 (based on experience) + excellent bonus + benefits package.
• Location: Hybrid working in City of London.
• Start Date: ASAP.
