About Our Client

Our client is a large organisation in the industrial/manufacturing sector, with an international presence. Their headquarters are based in Rocester and they are renowned for their innovative products and solutions.

Job Description

1. Category Management: Develop and implement category strategies for IT procurement, including hardware, software and services.
2. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods and services.
3. Strategic Sourcing: Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess their capabilities, and negotiate contracts to achieve the best terms and conditions.
4. Spend Analysis: Monitor and analyse spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
5. Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring all terms and conditions are met and risks are mitigated.
6. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure procurement activities align with business objectives.
7. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT procurement, including supply chain disruptions and compliance issues.
8. Performance Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings to senior management.

The Successful Applicant

A successful IT Buyer should have:

• A degree in business, IT, or a related field
• Experience in IT procurement within the industrial/manufacturing sector
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of procurement processes and supplier relationship management
• Proficiency in using procurement software and tools
