Job description

IT Support Apprentice – Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT)

Are you passionate about IT and looking for a hands-on opportunity to develop your technical skills in an education environment? Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT) is offering an exciting IT Support Apprenticeship where you will gain valuable experience in IT support, troubleshooting, and network management while supporting students and staff across our schools.

This apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity to build your IT career in a supportive and collaborative setting.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • Providing first-line technical support to staff and students.
  • Assisting in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues promptly.
  • Supporting the management of network infrastructure and security.
  • Maintaining accurate records of IT assets and support requests.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • A strong interest in IT and technology.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of networking, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
  • A Grade 4/C in GCSE Maths and a Grade 5/C in GCSE English is required for this role.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  • £14,526 per annum.
  • Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm.
  • 25 days paid annual leave per year.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting software, optimising performance, and setting up virtual environments.
