We are hiring a IS Tester for European Commission in Brussels and various locations around Europe.

Main Responsibilities

• Definition of test plans and test cases
• Construction of test scenarios and scripts
• Execution of tests
• Create reports/documentation of test results, errors, and issues to be fixed
• Collaborate with the business analysts, users, project managers, and developers
• Ensure the information systems meet the business requirements
• Ensure the information systems meet the standards and specifications
• Participate in technical working groups, progress meetings, and meetings with the users

Successful Candidate

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Very good experience in Testing methodologies
• Good knowledge of testing technologies, tools, and techniques
• Hands-on experience in manual testing
• Good knowledge of a Test Management tool
• Knowledge of a Defect Tracking tool
• Experience in test data preparation, preferably with SQL databases
• Experience in web-based technologies and Microsoft Dynamics 365
• ISTQB certification will be an advantage
• Awareness of software development and service methodologies (e.g., Agile)
• Ability to apply high-quality standards
• Ability to cope with fast-changing technologies
• Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
• Autonomous
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Analysis and problem-solving skills
• Capability to write clear and structured technical documents
• Ability to participate in technical meetings and communicate clearly on technical matters
• Experience of automation testing tools such as Selenium, Jenkins, or JavaScript is a plus

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE

• At least 2 years of specific expertise in defining test plans and test cases
• At least 2 years of specific expertise in writing test scenarios and scripts
• At least 2 years of specific expertise in Test Management and Defect Tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Katalon…)
• At least 2 years of specific expertise in relational databases and SQL
